to Bumpy Lime Ceramics

Trauma-informed artistry
preserved in clay.

We embrace the natural curves. The full bellies. The spilling over of such joys held true through fire and shaped by experience.

Bumpy Lime Ceramics is a cornerstone of our trauma-informed art therapy program, which we are currently building.  It's designed to help adults recovering from sexual violence reconnect with their own bodies in a healthy and inclusive way.

personalized shopping

a unique experience based on the journey of healing after abuse

Our shop will open in the spring of 2022

We are excited to provide a unique and personalized trauma-informed shopping experience.

In addition to sorting your preferences by object type, color, or size, you will also be able to connect with pieces by their creation dynamics.  That means you can search for pieces based on what kind of joy was recovered, or what type of trauma was processed.  You can choose what nature of the story each of the pieces you're looking for will provide you.  You may choose from broader emotions, such as "joyous", "cautious", and "brave"; as well as specific concepts, like "overcoming depression" or "challenging imposter syndrome".  Every piece is created as a means to transform inner work into functional, beautiful art.

our mission

Self reclamation. Artistic expression. Embracing diversity.

Bumpy Lime Ceramics is a cornerstone of our trauma-informed art therapy program, which we are currently building.  It's designed to help adults recovering from sexual violence reconnect with their own bodies in a healthy and inclusive way.

While we personally strive to better ourselves, it is often our perceived flaws that shape our personality, our individual beauty, and our capacity for love. Bumpy Lime Ceramics embraces the natural imperfections that come with wheel-thrown clay pots, in every stage of the process.

Each individual Bumpy Lime Ceramics piece is handmade by Pea Flower Tomioka, a systemic sexual assault survivor. These stories of healing are foundational to the birth of each piece, and she includes poetry, erotica, artwork, and photography as a part of the process of reclaiming personal power after violence.  Every ceramic comes with its own unique story, and no two are alike. The process of healing is integral to every piece, so every piece is created and meticulously documented.  These are more than handmade pieces- these are spirit bowls. Sacred objects with unique energies of their own.

When you purchase a piece from Bumpy Lime Ceramics, youi're supporting survivors of sexual violence.

Your purchase helps fund the creation of the art therapy program, which will help provide safe and inclusive access to all survivors of sexual violence to find healthy ways to reidentify with their own sexuality.  You can learn more about how this program is developing from founder Pea Flower Tomioka, on her website.

Thank you for joining us.  We hope that you find everything you are looking for, and don't hesitate to reach out by emailing us if you have any questions.
